SDG Week 7 : Challenges to Sustainable Development

Assalamualaikum, on week 7, our class was held online through Zoom. Prof. Dr. Suhaimi discussed about the challenges to sustainable development through various aspects of life such as economy and social. In this week also i have a group consultation with Prof. Dr. Suhaimi in his room in KENMS. We was updating on our current group project which is 'Wasatiyyah in Wudhu : Promoting Water Conservation through Islamic perspective'. There are many challenges that we face to achieve the sustainability. Here is my reflection :

Firstly, i aware that one of challenges to sustainability are lack of access to educational resources such as health facilities, nutritious food and clean water. It is essential to address these problem comprehensively and ensure fairness in all domains. Then, there are other main challenges such as climate change, clean energy and global poverty issues. These challenges need supportive efforts to attain sustainability. Therefore, collaboration with the government, organizations and communities is highly encouraged to create sustainable solutions for the long-term global well-being.

Next, I realised that sustainable development through sustainable society is focused on economic efficiency and environmental responsibility.  Not only that, the key ideas for a sustainable economy are the promotion of efficiency and such as ultilising recycled materials, reducing waste in production, packaging and distribution. Lastly, environmental challenges such as degradation of biological diversity such as deforestation and pollution, climate change, excessive use and overexploitation of natural resources.

In summary, I personally agreed in achieving sustainable development requires a strong approach that may address the  barriers of inequality and institutional instability. While the lack of access to basic human needs like healthcare and clean water gives an immediate challenge to social equity, the threats of climate change and biodiversity loss demand a fundamental shift toward an economically efficient and environmentally responsible society.
