SDG Week 8: Roles of Institution for Sustainable Development

 

Assalamualaikum, after the mid-sem break, we returned to our online class. Prof. Dr. Suhami focused on roles of instituition for sustainable development. Before that, our lecturer ask his student regarding on our group project's progress. After that, Prof. Dr. Suhaimi discussed in class were the roles of global and national institutions in achieving SDGs, the roles of local institutions and the roles of individuals. Here is my reflection :

    First of all, institutions play a important role at all individual levels in achieving sustainable development. Institutions must serve as the architects of progress by focusing on policy development and implementation, which creates the legal frameworks necessary for sustainable growth. Then,  funding and resource allocation, ensuring that financial capital reaches the projects that need it most. These institutions also prioritize monitoring and accountability to track progress and innovation and technology to find new solutions for environmental and social challenges. Furthermore, through capacity building, advocacy, and partnerships, they foster a collaborative global environment where knowledge is shared and every sector of society is mobilized toward the 2030 Agenda.

    Next, their primary role is service provision, where they  manage the delivery of healthcare, education, and clean water because they are closest to the people. They excel at community engagement and inclusivity, ensuring that marginalized voices are heard and that national policies are executed with local nuances in mind. Local bodies are also critical for resource management and enhancing resilience, as they are the first responders to climate-related vulnerabilities. By focusing on data acquisition at the ground level and fostering local innovations, these institutions ensure that development isustainable, community-led movement.

    In conculsion, i personally believed that institution can make a change in addressing environmental crisis with encompassing all individual level of life. This important to educate us about the various aspects of life aligning with sustainable development.
